Meinczinger SEED FARMS LTD.
Producing Quality Seed Since 1981
Steve comes from a third-generation family mixed farm operation and second-generation pedigreed seed grower who grew up on a farm near Busby, Alberta. The first pedigree seed crop was in 1981 and was started by his father Matt. From a young age, Steve was exposed to the ins and outs of the farm and was actively involved in helping his family manage their operation. Farm ownership eventually transferred from his parents Matt and Doris to him and his wife Jolene with Matt still helping during peak times. Since 2020 through the use of contract growers the Meinczinger Seed Farm business has doubled its Pedigree Seed Production and Sales capability of the operation. In 2024 Steve started his 2 year probationary period to become an accredited Plot Grower as well currently serving as a director on both the Alberta/BC Seed Growers Association and Westlock Seed Cleaning Plant boards.

Steve’s background was working in Project Management for 20 years as well as farming. He started farming full time in 2019. Jolene works at Busby school in early childhood as a Program Assistant. They have 4 children, 3 boys and one girl.
